The aim of the SportsConnect Program is to get students involved in club sports and community activities and to increase their community participation in a positive way. The school will support with registrations, applying for Kidsport and funding for uniforms. Parent capacity building is also an objective of the program.
There are many benefits of this program for students including increased self- esteem and confidence, team work and relationship building with coaches, team managers and team mates. The program also aims to improve school engagement and see an increase in positive classroom behaviour.
In previous years the school has supported students into a variety of activities including football, netball, basketball, T-ball, hockey, dance and a musical with a local repertory club.
Kidsport enables children to participate in community sport and recreation by offering them financial assistance towards fees. Applications are done online and a copy of a valid Health Care Card or Pensioner Card, with the applicant listed, is needed to complete the application.
