Kindergarten at East Kalgoorlie

At East Kalgoorlie Primary School, all children have access to 24 hours of kindergarten per week, spread across four days. This is above the standard 15 hours of kindergarten provided by the Department of Education (DOE) and offers additional opportunities for children to engage in learning. The learning provided is based on the Early Years Learning Framework, which ensures a comprehensive approach to developing essential skills in a nurturing and supportive environment.

This framework guides the curriculum, focusing on both academic and personal growth to prepare children for Pre-primary, the first year of full-time school. By attending kindergarten, children gain valuable social, emotional, and academic experiences that support their transition into school and set them up for future success.
