Our Factions
At East Kalgoorlie Primary School, students belong to one of three school factions. Our factions proudly represent local wildlife and are identified by their own colours and symbols. Throughout the year, students work together, show school spirit, and earn points for their faction.
Nganurti (Bush Turkey)
Faction Colour: Blue
Nganurti students proudly represent the Bush Turkey and wear blue during faction events and carnivals.
Karlaya (Emu)
Faction Colour: Yellow
Karlaya students proudly represent the Emu and wear yellow during faction events and carnivals.
Walawurru (Eagle)
Faction Colour: Red
Walawurru students proudly represent the Eagle and wear red during faction events and carnivals.
Faction Carnivals
All factions participate in our annual Cross Country Carnival and Athletics Carnival, where students demonstrate teamwork, sportsmanship and school pride while competing for faction points.
